20 Mar Places to rock the twinning trend this mothers day
Now that you are a momma to your cheeky bundle of joy, Mother’s Day is an occasion to be celebrated like no other! Alongside eating copious amounts of chocolate, houmous or whatever is your foodie treat of choice, the end of March is the perfect time to plan a family day trip, standing out in style in your matching ‘momma life’ sweater or T-shirt set while soaking up some culture, eating more tasty food, or getting your hands dirty with some creative crafts!
While you and your family crew ensure your twinning game is on point, here are some places to rock the matching trend this Mother’s Day:
Inspire your little ones with a visit to the esteemed Makers Market. It runs throughout the year, with different locations planned during each month. This Mother’s Day it will be taking up residency at The Lowry Outlet Mall, based in the cosmopolitan Manchester. Artisan food, drink, art, design, clothing and modern craft will be on display, hand-made by the local creative folk of Manchester. Expect to find cactus and pots galore, bunting, cards, freshly baked bread and of course, cake, with music and entertainment to ensure there is never a dull moment.
Even if they don’t like tea yet, your kids won’t take much convincing to head to Wollaton Hall this Mother’s Day – in The Dark Knight Trilogy it had a starring role, used as Wayne Manor (otherwise known as Batman’s house!) While your children soak up the comic book vibes, you can also appreciate the incredible Elizabethan county house and its huge, green surroundings. Indulge in delicious finger sandwiches, scones and cakes, washed down with the finest tea or coffee, before taking a stroll to the nearby deer park for some wildlife spotting!
If we haven’t already mentioned chocolate enough in this post, here is another helping of the C word and it looks simply irresistible! My Chocolate is a chocolate experience expert, running workshops in London, Brighton and Manchester and its Mother’s Day Indulgence Chocolate Workshop is set to put a smile on many momma’s faces. We’re not sure what this workshop will involve exactly, but a quick look at its Chocolate Safari, Luxury Chocolate Making Master Class or Children’s Events certainly give us an idea…
What better way to spend a day with the family than playing with cute animals? Chew Valley Country Farm is letting mums in for free this Mother’s Day, with only your child to pay for! Parade like a peacock in your matching t-shirt sets as you and your child get up close and personal with exotic birds, woolly llamas, delicate deer and more – not forgetting the ‘cuddle corner’, perfect for capturing Instagram-ready snaps.
